
Getting Your PET Preforms to Heat Right
If you’ve spent any time on the floor with Sacmi SBF 12 or Husky HyPET systems, you know the headache of uneven wall thickness. It’s frustrating. You see those cold spots in the preform, the bottle bursts, and suddenly you’re staring at a pile of scrap and a lot of wasted time. The problem is usually simple: the heat isn’t hitting the core.
How we actually fix the heat
We didn’t want to just make “another lamp.” We looked at the quartz tube and the spectral output. By tweaking the halogen gas pressure and the filament density, we shifted the infrared wavelength. Why does that matter? Because it’s a wavelength the PET polymer actually likes to absorb. Instead of scorching the outside of the plastic while the inside stays cold, the heat sinks in deep. You hit that glass transition temperature faster, and the plastic behaves the way it’s supposed to.
No fuss, just a swap
These are drop-in replacements. You don’t need to rebuild your oven or mess with the racks. They fit exactly where the OEM lamps go. We use high-purity quartz glass because, let’s be honest, these things take a beating under high thermal stress. They need to last. The wiring is simple, too. Whether you’re dealing with R7s or those weird specialized skews, the contacts are built to handle high current without pitting or wearing down. One quick tip: if you’re pushing these at max wattage,**keep an eye on your cooling blowers.**These lamps pack a lot of heat density. If your airflow is choked, you’re just killing the life of the lamp. Keep them cool, and they’ll keep running.

You spend way less time fiddling with the oven settings and more time actually producing. We’ve seen these hold steady over thousands of cycles. Just make sure your power is stable. If your grid jumps around, throw in some stabilizers. It’s a small step that keeps your filaments from popping.
