Let’s be honest: most bathroom infrared heaters are basically disposable. You use one for a few years, a heating element pops, and suddenly you’re stuck. By the time you pay someone to rip the whole thing out of the wall and take it apart, you’ve spent more on labor than the heater actually costs. It’s a waste. We thought that was crazy. So we did something different. The “Slide-and-Swap” Approach Instead of building a sealed box that you have to fight with, we went with a modular design. Think of it like a cartridge. The heating elements sit in their own little carriage. If something goes wrong five years from now, you don’t have to strip the entire unit or spend an afternoon soldering wires. You just pull out the dead module and slide in a fresh one. It turns a grueling few hours of work into a couple of minutes. The Trade-off Now, this isn’t magic. To make this work, we needed a bit more room for the connectors and the housing. The heater is slightly larger than a permanently welded unit. But in our eyes, that’s a fair trade. You lose a tiny bit of space, but you gain a machine that’s actually easy to fix. We used reinforced clips and standard terminals, too, so everything clicks into place and doesn’t rattle when the unit heats up and cools down. What This Actually Means for You If you’re managing a building or just fixing up your own home, this is the part that matters: the heater stays in the wall. The infrared tubes are the only parts that really wear out because they’re constantly heating and cooling. By separating those tubes from the power supply and the frame, the rest of the hardware can easily last a decade. You buy the unit once. Then, every few years, you just swap the tubes. Simple.
